Quirky Bride Talks About Her Illustration: A James Bond Wedding Story.

Updated: Apr 4

What made you decide to have a wedding illustration created?

I wanted to update my living room and replace my wedding photos with something more unique and that captured the whole day, rather than a collage of different photos Something really personal to me and my husband.

How does the illustration capture your special day in a way that photos might not?

It shows something that you can't see in a photo. We named our tables after James Bond films and had the theme songs playing whilst we ate. We saved Nobody does it better for our first dance. My illustration is themed around the song and James Bond, so it has much more to it than just being a snapshot of the moment. To me it encapsulates the whole day.

What was your favorite part of the process?

I loved the planning and trials, seeing the samples and listening to Rachel's ideas to create the perfect illustration of my wedding, Obviously receiving it was also very exciting!

Did you have any specific ideas or details you wanted to include in your illustration?

Yes, I did have some general ideas of what I wanted but found it hard to try and explain how it looked it my head. Rachel was great and listened to my ramblings and ideas, creating exactly what I had pictured in my head.

How did you feel when you saw the final illustration for the first time?

I was blown away to be honest, Rachel had included every little detail I wanted and the final piece was just beyond what I was expecting, it takes pride of place in my home and is a great conversation starter with guests.

Where do you plan to display your illustration, and why did you choose that spot?

I plan to put the illustration on the fireplace place in my living room, I have just finished decorating and wanted something eye catching and personal on the wall, I do not want the walls cluttered so I was looking for something a bit different but also really unique and meaningful.

How do you think your wedding illustration will serve as a keepsake over the years?

I feel like it is ageless, photos soon look outdated, but art stays youthful forever.

Would you recommend a wedding illustration to other brides? If so, why?

Ami's Finished Piece

Absolutely, with the digital age we know live in it is wonderful to have something handmade and bespoke to me and my wedding. I have a beautiful piece of art to remember my day that I know no one else has. Wedding photos can become very repetitive with the same old boring shots. I wanted something more.

How did the illustration compare to your expectations?

It exceeded it to be honest, Rachel literally brought my vision to life.

If you could describe your wedding illustration in three words, what would they be?

Unique, funky and awesome.

Massive thanks to Ami for taking the time to do answer these questions. It was a total pleasure creating your piece x
